For Godfall's Fire & Darkness expansion, we at Tuatara were responsible with a whole new suite of gameplay effects. As always our job is to support the gameplay experience with awesome visuals that are performant and augment the game design. We worked closely with the designers and engineers at Counterplay to ensure this.

Godfall's combat is very intense so VFX optimization was crucial.
Lots of elemental damage exists in the game and visual effects play an important part in communicating that.
Background and gameplay meteors are big part of the new fire realm so we designed flexible blueprints to support their various use cases.
We designed a lot of fire and lava based systems for the new realm like these lava puddles which use world space UVs to hide any seams when they overlap.
From hammer, long sword, mace and the shield the effects are designed to be compatible with different asset sizes.
