We've done a lot of work on The Ascent by Neon Giant on high impact visual effects like explosions. These were created in close collaboration with Magnus Larsson and others from the awesome team at Neon Giant, who were responsible for the setup and scripting
Here's a compilation of some of the explosions we've created for the game in a variety of types and scales.
We have utilized advanced shader techniques to extend the length of the animated textures we've created and make them blend better with the environment. Here we're using a special depth pass to achieve a volumetric look.
